Practice

In order to be able to play competently, it is necessary to practise as much as possible in order to create the muscle memory needed to play guitar, Practise is the key to success.

Between lessons, you will need to practice as much and as often as you can. The more often you practice, the quicker your progress will be.

Progress

The speed of your progress as a guitarist will depend on how hard you work at it. There will always be other things competing with your scheduled practice time. I cannot organise your life for you – I can only offer you expert tuition and guide you through every stage of your guitar playing.

Only your motivation and application, coupled with my support, can turn you into a competent guitarist. I cannot guarantee results, because I do not control you – I cannot guarantee that you will do any work! What I can say is this; follow my guidance and you will improve!

Meet The Tutors

Paul Broughton

Paul has been playing guitar for over 40 years and performing professionally for around 35 years working throughout Europe and the Middle East in various bands mainly covering pop, soul and rock as well as theatre tours backing various tribute tours. Originally self-taught when teaching became an option (around 20 years ago) he studied the RGT@ LCM grades achieving distinctions. As well as the theory side of playing this is really useful when sending pupils into an exam situation already experienced by Paul himself. Appreciating the validity of this academic knowledge especially as it installs confidence in pupils and their parents Paul beliefs that there’s no substitute for years of ‘hands on’ experience which he can pass on to his pupils which also extends to advice on choosing, setting up your equipment and getting the right sound for the right situation. Speaking to current pupils Paul is renown for his patience and mellow temperament putting his pupils at ease and giving them confidence. Experienced in teaching pupils from the age of 6 to 70 Paul currently has a 100% exam pass rate with his pupils teaches in local Comprehensive schools and is fully DBS (CRB) checked.

If you want to be a rock star or just be famous, then run down the street naked, you’ll make the news or something. But if you want music to be your livelihood, then play, play, play and play! And eventually you’ll get to where you want to be

Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music

I dedicated all the time I had to it. The 10 hour workout was just what I put in the magazine at the time, but for me it was every waking moment.
